INVE EPAC
Epac Black PL, XL and NL are adequately sized diets for the feeding of shrimp throughout the entire post-larval growing period. They are especially used in low and medium density culture systems at 50-100% of the feeding
Product Description
The original Epac Black PL, XL and NL range has been completely reformulated and offers you now the most performing economic alternative. The newly formulated Epac Black PL supports further reduction of Artemia dependence and is now able to replace almost half of the typically required amounts of Artemia during post-larval stages. The larger diets (XL, NL) are excellent nutritional packages in the extended post-larval or nursery rearing.
Epac Black PL, XL and NL are adequately sized diets for the feeding of shrimp throughout the entire post-larval growing period. They are especially used in low and medium density culture systems at 50-100% of the feeding regime.
Features & Benefits
POST-LARVAL SHRIMP FEEDS FOR LOW COST APPLICATIONS
- BETTER PALATABILITY AND ATTRACTIVENESS BETTER WATER STABILITY
- ACCURATE SIZE FRACTION
- HIGHER INCLUSION OF MARINE PROTEINS AND LIPIDS
- MAINTAINS A CLEAN AND HEALTHY REARING ENVIRONMENT
- FLEXIBLE APPLICATION IN VARIOUS CULTURE SYSTEMS
- RELIABLE OUTPUT OF ROBUST POST-LARVAE
PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
Higher Artemia replacement potential
The use of Epac Black PL cuts 40% to 50% of the post-larval Artemia
requirements.
Improved growth and stress resistance
The new Epac Black diet range has been thoroughly tested with L. vannamei in various feeding trials, both under highly controlled laboratory conditions and at industrial scale. The graphs below summarize the results of a feeding program where the new Epac Black formulations were compared to high cost competitor diets. During the PL1-PL5 stages, the diets replaced 40% of the Artemia requirements; during PL6-PL10 the post-larvae received the dry diets as the only food source.
The accelerated growth and the increased resistance to osmotic stress are clear proof of the nutritional superiority of the new Epac Black formulations as compared to the previous ones. Overall better performance is also noted when compared to two competitor diets, as indicated in the graphs by comp. 1 and comp. 2.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Preparation
All the Epac Black feeds should be added directly to the culture tank.
Epac Black | Particle size (µm) | Feeding stage | g/100,000 PL/day |
---|---|---|---|
PL | 100-300 | PL 1-10 | 5-40 |
XL | 300-600 | PL 10-20 | 20-70 |
NL | 600-1,300 | PL 20-40 | 30-100 |
NOTES
- Adapt to local prevailing conditions (e.g. phytoplankton bloom, rearing system, temperature, etc.)
- Split the daily required amount over rations to optimize continuous feed availability in the water column
- Spread evenly over the water surface
- Best feeding practices are based on frequent visual observations of the animals (fullness of the gut, prevalence of cannibalism) and tank conditions (water quality).
STORAGE
Store cool and dry.
Technical Info
COMPOSITION
Highly digestible marine proteins and marine lipids (in particular n-3 HUFA) are used to balance the nutritional composition of Epac Black feeds. Selected blends of vitamins, carotenoids and minerals are included to satisfy the shrimp’s requirements for micronutrients.
