INVE FRiPPAK FRESH
FRiPPAK FRESH Gold is the newest generation of microencapsulated diets engineered to maximally reduce the dependence on live feed in the industrial hatchery production of penaeid shrimp.
Product Description
FRiPPAK FRESH Gold is the newest generation of microencapsulated diets engineered to maximally reduce the dependence on live feed in the industrial hatchery production of penaeid shrimp.
For a predictable and optimal output, it is recommended to combine moderate quantities of Artemia with diets #1 CAR and #2 CD during the larval stages, apply high Artemia replacement with #3 CD during the early post-larval stages (till PL5) and apply total Artemia replacement during the later post-larval stages (using the FRiPPAK PL+ ULTRA post-larval feeds).
Features & Benefits
A RANGE OF ADVANCED, MICROENCAPSULATED LARVAL SHRIMP FEEDS
- BEST BALANCE BETWEEN LIVE FEED AND FORMULATED DIETS
- OPTIMIZED FEEDING REGIMES
- CONTAINS HIGH LEVELS OF FRESH AND NATURAL INGREDIENTS
- HIGHER SURVIVAL RATES AND SHORTER PRODUCTION CYCLES
- ACCURATE AND STAGE-SPECIFIC PARTICLE SIZES
- EXCELLENT BUOYANCY
Protein
Optimal levels of highly digestible protein from marine sources (95% pepsin digestible). The relatively high portion of soluble protein (40%) favors attractiveness and digestibility.
Lipid
Plenty of marine HUFA-rich oils are included for a balanced composition of essential fatty acids (EPA and DHA); the lipids mainly consist of triglycerides, phospholipids and cholesterol, scientifically proven to be the most important contributors to energy production, membrane building blocks and osmotic regulation capability.
Vitamins
A full range of vitamins and carotenoids is supplemented with extra vitamin C and E to effectively enhance the stress and disease resistance.
PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
Reliable Artemia replacement
The FRiPPAK FRESH Gold diets and the FRiPPAK PL FEEDS are part of INVE Aquaculture’s top performing feeding program for the larval and post-larval production of penaeid shrimp species. Adjusted feeding schedules, with the right proportion between live feed and FRiPPAK products result in the Best Balance protocol, which allows safe and reliable Artemia reduction down to only 15% of the total dry matter requirements (see figure and table).
Figure: Relative contribution of Artemia and formulated feeds to the total dry matter consumption in PL10 for a standard feeding protocol and an optimized Best Balance protocol.
Table: Quantity (g) of diets, Artemia and their dry matter (DM) required in two feeding protocols to produce one million L.vannamei PL10. The relative contribution of both feed types is calculated on a dry matter basis.

- Average dry weight of formulated diets: 95%
- One kg of Artemia cysts (GSL, 200,000 nauplii per gram cysts) corresponds to about 400 g of nauplii biomass (dry matter).
Best cost-benefit ratio
The superior nutritional strength of the FRiPPAK products is demonstrated in industrial production environments: regardless the hatchery’s routine feeding protocol, the combined application of the FRiPPAK FRESH Gold diets and the FRiPPAK PL FEEDS consistently cuts the Artemia needs by half without compromising survival, development and growth of the animals. This represents a reduction of the post-larvae production cost of 20-30%.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Preparation
- Suspend up to 50 g per liter of water and stir gently.
- Pour the suspension through a filter screen before distributing in the tanks.
- Use screens of 140 mesh (100 µm) for #1 CAR, of 100 mesh (140 µm) for #2 CD and of mesh 50 (300 µm) for #3 CD.

From PL11 onwards: increase feed by 5-7% per day and apply FRiPPAK RACEWAY.
- diatom cells per microliter
- Artemia nauplii per (post-)larva per day
- gram cysts per million (post-)larvae per day (assumed hatching: 200,000 nauplii per gram of cysts)
Notes
- Adapt to local prevailing conditions (e.g. algae use, rearing system, microbial management, temperature, etc.).
- Split the daily required amount over different rations to optimize continuous feed availability in the water column.
- Spread evenly over the water surface.
- Best feeding practices are based on frequent visual observations of the animals (fullness of the gut, prevalence of cannibalism) and tank conditions (water quality).
STORAGE
Store cool and dry. Oxygen absorber included to extend shelf life. Once opened keep refrigerated and use within one month.
